Do's and don'ts while resigning: Resign on a professional healthy note
Resign but stay diplomatic and professional in your notice period.
🔶Resignation and job switch is the most tricky part of employment.
🔶Even experienced employees face struggle during their notice periods.
🔶Here are a few tips and realities you must stay careful about
There must be many grudges in your mind but it's important to understand the importance of resigning smartly:
Once you resign, there is a lot of process still due
- Releaving letter
-Pending salary and final settlement amount
- Ref Checks
-Future reference after some years if required
Therefore it's important to resign smartly i.e on a professional and positive note 📝
Some quick tips👇🏻
- Do not reveal the exact reason for exit
- Nobody is your friend in notice period
- Do not leave any naked wires open, keep a good exit note healthy and friendly(if not real, fake it)
-Never discuss your next move, next firm, next designation unless it is part of the process. If sharing, share only with immediate manager as required.
-Do not disclose anything negative about your manager, colleagues or company.
Leaving is ultimate pleasure as a toxic workplace makes you feel
🧨 exhausted
🧨 unhealthy
🧨 detached
🧨 helpless
Taking a call, understanding your worth and taking exit on a healthy note are signs of a true professional 🎯
The industry is very small, these people may come in touch some day in future, while taking exit keep your attitude very diplomatic ✅
Before you quit your job, plan mindfully 📝
📍Start being active on LinkedIn and keep looking for good opportunities
📍Network and keep your doors open
📍Be aware of your KRAs and finish your pending works before putting paper
📍Start limiting your unnecessary expenses as a plan of action
📍Last but not least, discuss with your family, their support will make you strong
(Point 3 is my favourite ❤️ )
A note from my experience ✍️
The day you fall sick, your firm will find a replacement but your family will suffer each day with you.
